Our minister

Meet our minister

Rev. Dr. Csaba Osvath
Minister

Rev. Dr. Csaba Osvath serves as the minister of the Hungarian Christian Church in Safety Harbor. He is passionate about creating welcoming communities where people can explore faith, build meaningful relationships, and discover a deeper sense of purpose and belonging.

Rev. Osvath received his theological education and ordination through the University of Reformed Theology and later earned both a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. His ministry is shaped by an ecumenical spirit, a commitment to lifelong learning, and a deep belief in the transformative power of compassion, hospitality, and authentic community.

In addition to his pastoral work, Dr. Osvath serves as a professor at the University of South Florida, where his teaching and research focus on literacy, creativity, human-centered design, and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and immersive learning environments. He is the founding director of the USF Collaboratory, an innovative space dedicated to creativity, making, and experiential learning.

Drawing from both faith and scholarship, Rev. Osvath seeks to build bridges between tradition and innovation, spirituality and everyday life, and people from diverse backgrounds and experiences. His ministry is grounded in the conviction that every person is worthy of dignity, belonging, and love.

He and the congregation warmly welcome all who are seeking spiritual growth, connection to Hungarian heritage, or a compassionate community in which to journey together.

About us

Hungarian roots, open doors

The Hungarian Christian Church in Safety Harbor is a welcoming and inclusive faith community serving the Tampa Bay region and beyond. Rooted in Hungarian language, culture, and Christian tradition, we welcome all people—Hungarians, their families and friends, and anyone who appreciates our heritage and values.

As an ecumenical congregation, we embrace diversity, foster meaningful relationships, and seek to create a community where people can find belonging, encouragement, and spiritual renewal. Our bilingual worship services are offered in both Hungarian and English, making our church accessible to people from many backgrounds.

We gather weekly for worship, celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month, and share a traditional Hungarian meal with the community. Throughout the year, we host cultural, educational, and community events that help preserve and celebrate Hungarian language, history, and traditions while building bridges across generations and cultures.

Whether you are seeking a spiritual home, a connection to Hungarian heritage, or simply a welcoming community, you are invited to join us. Following Christ’s invitation, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest,” we strive to be a place of hospitality, compassion, hope, and belonging for all.
